The abbey is open to visitors from May 1 to August 10, from Tuesday to Saturday from 12:00 to 18:00. You will have access to some of the buildings, but especially to the three successive gardens: a flower garden, a vegetable garden and finally a meditation garden on the south side of the monks’ refectory in an isolated enclosure. There are many rosebushes and fruit trees that take advantage of this southern exposure. Since 2021, a simple garden has also been planted. These gardens are part of the Union des Parcs et Jardins de Normandie.
In addition to the gardens, the 13th and 14th century buildings give very faithful insight into the functioning of a medieval Norman abbey. The Abbey also offers visitors three flat tombs of former lords of Argouges and the largest collection of cobblestones in Le Molay-Littry, dating from the 14th century, whose colors and patterns take us back to medieval art and colors.
Unaccompanied tour:
The Abbey offers you a visit in two stages. First, a photo exhibition focuses on the different phases of restoration of the Abbey since the 1930s and allows you to imagine the different aspects of the place over the centuries. Then, with the help of a written booklet, you can discover this exceptional piece of Normandy heritage. A guide at the entrance remains at your disposal for any questions or additional information during your visit.
The Abbey is open from May 1st to August 10th, Tuesday to Saturday from 12:00 to 18:00. Payment for the visit is made at the entrance in cash or online on this site, checks are accepted.
